PRINCIPLE OF FUNCTIONING OF SINGLE ACTIVE DRIVE:

The vertical air-spring pneumatic drive (single-acting) is widely used in operations requiring repeated starting in a short time interval, the advantage is its fast and accurate response. The valve is opened with compressed air.

Pneumatic single-acting actuator (air / spring) is used for opening and closing of direct butterfly valves with compressed air (recommended value for safe opening of the valve is 5 – 8Bar). The spring of the pneumatic actuator is used to close the butterfly valve (without control air pressure), or in case of a drop in the control air pressure for safe closing of the valve.

To control the pneumatic actuator, the actuator must be supplemented with a pilot (electromagnetic) valve for controlling the compressed air supply. It is also possible to supplement the butterfly valve with inductive sensors for signaling the actual position of the valve (open / closed). This configuration allows you to control the valve via a control system with feedback on what position the valve is in.

The position of the valve is also indicated (visually) by a mechanical indicator, which is mounted on the control shaft.
