Chemical resistance ABS / ASA

ABS polymers are resistant to aqueous acids, alkalis, concentrated hydrochloric and phosphoric acid, alcohols, animal, vegetable and mineral oils. Swells in glacial acetic acid, carbon tetrachloride and aromatic hydrocarbons.  Degradují v koncentrované kyselině sírové a dusičné. Jsou rozpustné v esterech, ketonech, ethylendichloridu a acetonu.

Acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate terpolymer ASA excels in

  • increased weather resistance compared to ABS;
  • improved resistance to the effects of ultraviolet radiation. This can be further improved by coloring the products in dark shades;
  • improved low temperature toughness compared to butadiene rubber modified plastics.

ASA cannot be used in environments with concentrated acids, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, ethers and ketones.
